My Uncle (who I'm named after) suffered a stroke earlier this year. He's recovering OK, but he will never be the same as he was before. He's always had an interest in cars, American muscle cars specifically. Also loves mechanical things... he served in the Navy as an instrument repairman onboard ships and submarines. He's currently living at an assisted living home, and needless to say, he's not happy. He doesn't like being cooped up, and he says the food sucks.
He lives 5 states away, so I don't get to see him that often. My wife and I planned a trip that would take us nearby, and I just had to stop by and see him.
We had rented a car, but chose to just get a basic economy car like we always do when we travel. We landed at the airport, and made our way to the car rental counter. When we got there, we were treated to a FREE upgrade, which we gladly accepted. That car ended up being a black Hemi Challenger!
My wife and I had a blast in this car all weekend, but the best part was that the nurses allowed me to take my Uncle out for a drive. I had to help him get in and buckle up, but as soon as I got behind the wheel he asks "Can we roll the windows down?". Of course those windows came down!
