Hello,
I am learning how to place pipe and components using Auto Plant V8i and Bentley tutorials on the Learn Server.
I have been getting mixed results using the auto centerline functionality. My selections are as follows: Piping->Piping Tools->Centerline Router->From Dialog->select radio button Info Mode On->select From Component button, select ok->then follow command line prompts, select start point, select end point->then prompted with Router Dialog->I select Box Router Pick in left column->then pick end point of box which is the start point of centerline, then I get the attached alert, I ignore by selecting ok->toggle thru the options to keep the appropriate legs of the "L" shaped centerline. However, the resulting centerline is a closed triangle which is a common result for two fittings in the same plane. If I have two fittings not in same plane, I have a resulting box that is in the same plane sometimes.
I am beginning to wonder if there is a very specific workflow to get the centerline router to work efficiently so I do not have to draft 2-dozen trials of the same centerline before getting a useful result. Can someone comment if there is a specific workflow for using the centerline router that may be different from what I describe above or recommend a better option for drafting centerlines?
